Adding A Change Order In AIA Billing


FCS has the capability to add change orders within AIA billing.  This article will demonstrate the steps to complete this process.

Step 1: 

  • When a change order is necessary simply click into the Production tab and click on the "Change Order" button on the left side of the page.


Step 2: 

  • The Change Order window will appear and you will click on the "Add Change Order" button indicated by the black arrow below.


Step 3: 

  • Using the pulldown menus and open fields, complete the Change Order page including as much detail as possible. 
  • When completed click "Add" to move on. 


Step 4: 

  • Clicking the "Add" button will take you to a second Change Order page which will list all change orders and allow you to make changes.


Step 5: 

  • Next, you will need to click on the "Contract" tab on the left side of your screen. 
  • You will see the changes made to the contract in the grey contract box. 
  • You will also notice the additional cost of the change order at the bottom of the page.


Step 6: 

  • The next step is to add the change order to your schedule of values. 
  • Notice below "Skylights" have been added along with the value of the item. 
  • You will also see the changes made to the total cost of the job at the bottom of the page.


Step 7: 

  • Lastly, you will manage the percentages of the change order accordingly. 


Congratulations! You have successfully added a change order to your project within AIA billing.
