Differences Between OPS 1.0 & OPS 4.0 Projects

FCS_logo.png

  • FCS has the ability to complete new construction, reroof, or large projects in two different applications.
  • This article aims to explain the similarities and differences between OPS 1.0 and 4.0.
  • Along the way, we will provide best practices to help choose which OPS is best for a particular job.

We will start by summarizing the capabilities of OPS 1.0 & 4.0 in the table below:

  • You can see in the table above OPS 1.0 and 4.0 share the same capabilities except for how the foreman enters % complete for a Day of Work in the mobile app.
  • Below we'll take a closer look and see how they differ.

OPS 1.0:

  • Foreman who struggles to utilize the outline drawing tools will enjoy using OPS 1.0.
  • OPS 1.0 is less tech-savvy and simpler to use.
  • The foreman will add the amount of squares removed and replaced.
  • The program will calculate the % complete for you.
  • OPS 1.0 may be a better option for new construction or a roof where an aerial image cannot be obtained.

OPS 4.0:

  • OPS 4.0 relies on the foreman to outline the section of the roof.
  • The outline will calculate the square foot area and the % complete.
  • In cases such as new construction, you can use architectural designs as the aerial image.

Congratulations! You now have a better understanding of OPS 1.0 and 4.0.

Hopefully, we have given you some insight as to their similar capabilities, how they capture % complete, and some best practices of when to choose one option over the other.
